Ammar fest announces animation lineup

Secretariat of the 8th edition of the Ammar Popular Film Festival has announced the titles to compete at the animation section of the event.

The secretariat recently named 34 titles to compete at this section. The winners will be named on the opening day of the Iranian event.

‘Fleeing Home’ by Hossein Asadi, ‘Sword Dance’ by Vahid Mobasheri, ‘Passage’ by Mohammad Fazel, ‘Little Hands’ by Mehdi Khoroushi, Seyyed Hossein Café’ by Seyyed-Amir Ghobar-Astaneh, and ‘Bridge’ by Navid Tanzifian are in the lineup.

‘Sky and Sea’ by Nasim Eini, ‘Over Moon’ by Omid Lak, ‘Once Upon a Time’ by Mehdi Lak, ‘Dancing with Cow’ by Mehdi Lali, ‘Boss’ by Ehsan Sanaei-Rad, ‘River Sanctions’ by Mehdi Mohseni, and ‘Trumpet’ by Rasoul Azargoun will also compete at this section.

The Ammar Popular Film Festival goes against promotion of “individualism and extreme enjoyment without caring about the society's troubles and other human suppression,” the event’s official website noted.

The festival also enjoys an international version (AIPFF) which aims “to raise real awareness and responsibility among the general public,” the AIPFF website read, adding, "the event’s mission is to create an atmosphere in which independent filmmakers and thinkers can gather together."

The 8th edition of the festival is scheduled to be held from December 27, 2017, to January 5, 2018, in Tehran.
